The authors consider the heating of the solar plages to be due to the
Alfvén waves having ponderomotive force. Assuming a certain field
configuration, they derive a formula for the turbulence heating of
plages by Alfvén waves. Their calculated plage temperature
distribution is in agreement with the observed one.
