Photoelectric UBVRI observations of the system TT Ari during the high state (V ≅ 10) have been acquired over a baseline of a month (October 1986). The observations are in favour of a period very stable in the course of the latest 25 years: the most probable period is 0.13298±0.00003 days, very close to the value given by Smak and Stepien (1975). Nevertheless, the observations cannot completely exclude a period P = 0.13232±0.00005 d, which corresponds closely to the most recent period determination by Semeniuk et al. (1987). The most probable interpretations of these contrasting trends are discussed. The authors look also for oscillations in the range 10 - 30 min: these are clearly present in each observing run.
