The gravitational triaxiality of the earth, moon and Mars are discussed, and parameters determining the triaxiality of the equipotential surfaces of the three bodies are obtained. Consideration is given to the eccentricity of the elliptical section containing the longest axes of the ellipsoid representing the planetary equipotential surface and to the longitude of the meridian in which the semimajor axis is situated, and approximate values for the harmonics with even degrees and even orders, which are responsible for the triaxiality, are determined. The observed and modeled equipotential surface and length scale factor for the earth and computed planetoids and scale factors for the moon and Mars are used to determine the parameters of their best-fitting triaxial ellipsoids and corresponding rotational ellipsoids. It is pointed out the terrestrial (2,2) harmonic is clearly dominant over other nonzonal ones, while for Mars the (4,4) harmonic is also high and the (6,6) sectorial harmonic dominates for the moon.
