An investigation is made of the fine structure of the spectral and polarization characteristics of the transverse resonances of the earth-ionosphere waveguide in the presence of various types of auroral disturbances. It is shown that the relative value of resonant-frequency splitting due to the geomagnetic field is small, while the Q factors of resonant oscillations of right and left polarization can differ considerably (by several times). Theoretical and gxperimental data are compared for the excitation of transverse resonances in the auroral region (lambda - 65 deg) where the magnetic field is not strictly vertical.
