The tendency to form clusters in a random process through explosions is investigated. Using a hierarchical model in which structures at different scales are generated by explosions of 'seeds', with each seed being a structure in the previous (larger) scale, the form of the correlation coefficient of the clusters, superclusters, and galaxies is determined. It is shown that structures generated by different-scale explosions could produce a fractal distribution on hierarchical scales similar to those observed.
