We present a technique to correct the long term transients in the signal from unchopped spectroscopy with the PACS instrument onboard the Herschel Space Telescope. This kind of transient occurs every time there is a big jump in flux on the detector and affects the signal approximately for the first 6 minutes. The effect is particularly pronounced in the case of the red array where it can amount up to 20% variation in the response of the array, but it also visible in the case of the blue array. Correcting these transients is critical especially in the case of short observations since this time corresponds to the minimum amount of time allowed in unchopped mode.
