Scientific paper

Tidal gravity profiles were established in Australia and Papua, New Guinea, commencing September 1974. Five stations were occupied in all using four tidal gravimeters. Data were analyzed and the results obtained are presented. The gravimeters were calibrated at the fundamental station established at Canberra. Uniformity is maintained with the Brussels fundamental station. It is assessed that the normalization coefficients for each instrument are correct to about 0.5% for the diurnal waves and about 1% for M2.
