This proposal will use the 7mm SiO(J=1-0) and CS(J=1-0) lines to map the large-scale shocked/disrupted molecular clouds energised by the W28 supernova remnant and nearby massive HII star formation regions. Evidence for high energy processes towards these clouds comes from H.E.S.S. observations of TeV gamma-ray emission. Key interest is on what type of high energy particles provide this emission and can massive star formation contribute to this process. This 7mm Mopra proposal will provide crucial new information towards answering these questions. It also builds on and complements our almost-completed Mopra studies of this region using the NH3 12mm lines, which revealed several dense cloud cores towards the TeV sources.
