The paper examines the possibility of a Hawking-type black-body effect due to the cosmological event horizon in the framework of the reduced two-dimensional de Sitter metric. There appears to be radiation from the horizon toward the origin at temperature T defined by kT = the sq root of lambda-prime/2pi, where 3 lambda-prime is the cosmological constant. Consideration is given to the observer dependence of this radiation.
