A statistical analysis of the data of Gopasyuk and Lyamova (1987) on the long-period torsional oscillations of sunspots is performed. It is shown that the form of the relation between the amplitude and the oscillation frequency can be interpreted as evidence that the corresponding process is not self-regulating. The sunspot depth was estimated in a linear approximation to be h = 2500 km.
