This paper describes two new tools that were developed from the IDL widget set in the X Windows environment: XSm, a slide-making utility, and XCc, a widget application allowing the user to change the shape of the cursor. Although simple-minded, these utilities were developed as a stimulant to other authors to use the new IDL widget programming techniques. In addition to widget examples, this paper includes instructions about retrieving the documentation related to the IDL Astronomy User's Library that was created at the Space Astrophysics Laboratory.
