Very high resolution ethane spectra (lambda / Delta lambda ~ 10(6) ) of Titan were acquired with the Goddard Infrared Heterodyne Spectrometer (IRHS) in October of 1995 at NASA/IRTF. The observed ethane doublet was fit with multiple models in order to investigate the stratospheric ethane abundance. We will present the retrieved ethane mole fractions, taking into account beam geometry, for various temperature and abundance profiles. Theoretically derived and Voyager retrieved thermal profiles were used. The best derived mole fraction for a constant-with-altitude distribution of ethane above the tropopause is 4.2 +/-(5.3}_{2.2) x 10(-6) . A parameter space for acceptable ethane mole fractions will also be presented.
