Satellite Laser Ranging, Lunar Laser Ranging, Event Timer

The working principle of the time interval counter and the event timer used are described in detail. In addition, the performance of timing devices used at present in the Satellite Laser Ranging Station of Yunnan Observatory is also presented. The experiment for the measurement of the signal period was made using the system. It is shown that the measurement accuracy using event timer OTL100P is better than that using the time interval counter SR620. OTL100P event timer which has the character of measuring event epoch directly and the advantage of high measurement accuracy may meet the timing requirements in Kunming Station for multi-pulse Satellite Laser Ranging and Lunar Laser Ranging in the future.
