Observational data on IR, optical, and X-ray sources associated with energetic cosmic events are reviewed, and the occurrence is noted of an apparently preferred value of the spectral index for the radiation continua of the different sources. Based on considerations concerning the evolution of the synchrotron-radiation power spectrum of radiation sources with very strong magnetic fields, the time-integrated synchrotron radiation theory is formulated which is able to give a unique spectral-index value for the radiation produced by a single high-energy electron, independently of the initial electron energy. It is shown that the uniform distribution of magnetic-field values in a source required for the production of the apparently preferred spectral index can be explained in terms of a model in which condensations of material containing strong magnetic fields exist and electron can be produced within these condensations through pion production and decay processes. It is suggested that such condensations could act as basic structural units for complex radiation sources associated with different types of energetic events, which might be a clue to the evident similarity of the radiation continua.
