Photometric observations of 1235 stars have been made in the RGU system covering an area of 0.19 square degrees with center coordinates l equals 9.3 deg and b equals +12.1 deg, down to the limiting magnitude 17.9. Two-color diagrams are used for the identification of the late-type giants of population I, late-type giants at the right side of the main sequence, and metal-poor main sequence stars, and to determine the interstellar reddening. Density functions are calculated for both types of late-type giants, for main sequence stars of the disk population and partly also for metal-poor main sequence stars. The luminosity functions for main sequence stars of population I are determined for the two distance intervals 0.5-1.0 kpc and 1.0-1.5 kpc and compared with the corresponding function for the solar neighborhood
