CCD images of some spiral galaxies were obtained with a 1 m telescope in Yunnan Observatory. After processing and measuring the images with a computer, we obtained the morphological parameters, thickness, and relative errors of seven spiral galaxies (NGC2608, NGC2713, NGC2776, NGC3631, NGC5669, NGC5985 and NGC7156) by fitting their spiral arms with logarithmic spirals. This method is the only one to be generally applicable for measuring the thickness of most spiral galaxies.
