The ThermoLab Project is concerned with the measurement of the thermophysical properties of metallic alloys in the liquid phase to provide industry with property values of alloys for the modelling of casting, solidification and process optimisation. An overview of the project is given, the experimental techniques applied and the results obtained, including ground-based measurements and the results from a series of parabolic flights for the measurement of surface tension and viscosity of industrial alloys.
