May 1990 postperihelion imaging of Comet Austin with the mid-IR 'Golden Gopher' astronomical camera exhibit no jet- or shell-like structures; the coma is slightly elongated, but there is no systematically higher intensity either sunward or antisunward. The radial brightness profiles are consistent with the presence of fading grains in the vicinity of the cometary nucleus. These results are the first application of the Golden Gopher camera in cometary research, demonstrating the usefulness of mid-IR array technology.
