A quantitative theory of high-frequency radiation from the pulsar NP 0532 and the Crab Nebula is developed. The structure of pulsar magnetospheres and parameters of ejected plasma are examined, and the Cerenkov excitation of longitudinal waves by particle beams is addressed. Cyclotron instability and its excitation conditions are discussed, and the development of the cyclotron instability is treated. The acceleration of particles in pulsar magnetospheres is covered, and the nature of radiation from the Crab Nebula and the NP 0532 pulsar is studied. It is shown that X-ray and gamma ray radiation of the pulsar is explained by the synchrotron radiation of beam particles. The evaluated synchrotron luminosity coincides with that observed for the pulsar. The expected spectrum of the synchrotron radiation of ultrarelativistic electron-positron pairs ejected from the pulsar magnetosphere into the Crab Nebula agrees well with observations.
