The VO effort was initially driven by the necessity to share big amounts of observational astronomical data. However, as soon as scientists got exposed to the -yet few- existing VO utilities, it has been immediately made clear that there is a need to give the support of theoretical data to the observations within the VO.
With this view in mind, the ESAVO group (see Barbarisi 2006) proposed to create two different access mechanisms for Spectral Line information (together with the Paris Observatory) and to Theoretical Spectral Models (together with the Spanish VO group).
We present here how these two access protocols have been integrated for the first time in a fully VO compatible spectral tool, the VOSpec {http://esavo.esac.esa.int/vospec}.
From the VOSpec tool, the user is able to normalize and overlay Theoretical Spectral models over observational data. The user is also able to get information on spectral lines as the VOSpec makes use of a VO integrated line access protocol, that will connect atomic and molecular spectral line databases around the world.
