The authors have calculated the polarization properties of dielectronic satellite lines in Be-like Mg and Fe ions excited by an electron beam. Polarization-dependent synthetic spectra have been computed associated with two polarization states: parallel and perpendicular to the electron beam. The authors discuss the dependence of the polarization-dependent spectra on the characteristics of the electron beam and on the nuclear charge of the ion. These results are relevant to diagnostics applications of X-ray line polarization spectroscopy in non-equilibrium plasmas whose electron distribution functions can show anisotropy.
