Several ocean tide models from the literature are employed to examine theoretical amplitudes and phases of the periodic polar motion terms caused by ocean tides. The derivations necessary to obtain the polar motion ellipses from the equatorial angular momentum components M2, S2, N2, K1, O1, P1, Mf, Mf-prime, Mm, and Ssa are described. The wobbles produced by the largest tidal components, M2, K1, and O1 reach a semimajor axis of 0.55, 0.41, and 0.34 mas, respectively. The amplitude of the superposition of the wobbles due to the semidiurnal and diurnal tides is 1 mas. Parameters of polar motion ellipses, and the amplitudes and phases of the dimensionless angular velocity vector components are illustrated.
