The XENON100 experiment is a two-phase liquid xenon TPC dedicated to
search for the dark matter particle. It has a target mass of about 65
kg, surrounded by an active liquid xenon shield of 105 kg. The
experiment is installed underground at the Laboratori Nazionali del Gran
Sasso (LNGS). Here we describe the experiment and its current status.
