The authors present new observations of AC 211, the variable "UV" object included in the Einstein satellite error circle for the M15 globular cluster X-ray source. U, B, and V images were obtained in excellent seeing using either a CCD camera or a micro-channel-plate photographic camera at the F/25 Cassegrain focus of the 2 m telescope of Pic du Midi Observatory. The authors observed brightness variations greater than 1 magnitude in U, and of about 0.5 magnitude in B and V. They thus confirm an earlier report of the photometric characteristics of AC 211. They conclude that it is very likely that AC 211 is the optical counterpart of the X-ray source and show that their data are consistent with this object being a binary composed of a neutron star plus a post main-sequence companion.
