Clusters Of Galaxies: X-Ray Luminosities, Clusters Of Galaxies: Luminosity Function
Scientific paper
The author discusses the X-ray properties of a complete flux-limited sample of bright ROSAT All-Sky Survey clusters of galaxies selected from the ESO Key Programme Redshift Survey of Southern Clusters. This sample, covering the southern galactic cap region, is composed of 111 clusters in the redshift range 0.02 < z < 0.2 and is more than 90% complete. The log N - log S distribution for this sample is found to be in good agreement with previous work, confirming the reliability of the author's selection criteria. The X-ray luminosity function is well fitted by a Schechter function with α = 1.32(-0.23,+0.21) and L* = 2.63(-0.58,+0.87)×1044erg s-1 in the 0.5-2.0 keV band.
