The behavior of hydromagnetic oscillations along the field lines of
Jupiter's magnetosphere crossing the Io plasma ring is examined. The
period and shape of these oscillations, derived by direct numerical
calculation, are compared with those obtained with the WKB method, in
order to show the inaccuracy of this approximation.
