The Vera Long Baseline Array (VLBA) is a flagship in high-resolution radio astronomy achieved by the very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) in the world. The VLBA is now recommended to be either closed or supported by international/inter-institutional partners. Achievements and roles of the VLBA and its desirable future for VLBI astronomy and Japanese astronomers have been discussed. In this year, we are strongly requested to manifest the relationship between the VLBA and our Japan/East Asia VLBI Networks.
