The very high energy spectra ( TeV) of AGN are of invaluable use in extragalactic background light studies, due to pair losses of the VHE photons on the difficult to measure IR background. In order to de-convolve intrinsic spectra one needs a large sample of sources at differing redshifts. The BL Lac object 1ES1959+650 (z=0.048) was observed in a flaring state during May 2002 by the Whipple 10m imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescope. The results of the analysis of the TeV spectrum in that flaring state will be reported here.
