Results of spectral and angle measurements of solar radiation in deep layers of the Venus atmosphere are presented. The integral flux of solar radiation at the surface of the Venera-11 landing site amounted to 78 W/sq m. The radiative heat influx in the 0.45-1.55 micron range amounted to 15 W/sq m above 48 km and 45 W/sq m below 48 km. The optical thickness of the cloud layer in the 0.5-1.0 micron range does not depend on wavelength. Below 48 km, there exists an aerosol scattering medium whose optical thickness is dependent on wavelength. CO2 and H2O bands were identified in the spectra; their intensity increased as the probe descended. The role of sulfur as an absorbing agent in the atmosphere is discussed.
