Globular Clusters: Individual: Ngc 6362, Stars: Variables: Rr Lyrae

Scientific paper

Observations from the southern hemisphere have been used to determine the periods of 30 variable stars in the globular cluster NGC 6362. All are of the RR Lyrae type. Fourteen are type RRc, fifteen are type RRab and the classification of one (V1) is still uncertain. Fifteen of the stars had previously published periods and four of these periods were found to be in error. As a result of this new investigation, the mean period of the RRc stars has been revised from 0.d345 to 0.d 296and the mean period of the RRab stars has been revised from 0.d535 to 0.d556.
