Changes in the shape of the variable cometary nebula GM 1-29 during the period from 1950-1980 are described. Three phases of enhanced brightness occurred in 1950-1956, 1968-1971, and 1975-1980, and the object is presently fading again. The behavior of the nebula is closely similar to that of NGC 2261 and NGC 1555, and according to underexposed spectra of the nebula taken in 1978, it may be inferred that the object is a reflection nebula.
