A method for investigating perturbed spacecraft trajectories in the atmosphere is proposed which is based on the theory of Markov processes. The motion of the spacecraft is interpreted as a change in the probability of its stay in certain fixed positions of phase space. The proposed method makes it possible to determine the statistical characteristics of the terminal motion parameters of a descent vehicle without large-volume computations of the perturbated trajectories. This leads to a considerable reduction in the computer time needed to obtain quantitative estimates of the spacecraft landing precision.
