The Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (UIT) flew on the Shuttle in December 1990 as part of the ASTRO-1 payload. The UIT is a 38 cm Ritchey- Chretien telescope designed for ultraviolet imaging and grating imagery over a 40' diameter field of view. Spectral coverage extends from roughly 130-300 nm via a set of eleven selectable filters. During the first flight of the ASTRO-1 payload the UIT obtained data on 66 different fields. We have used the FOCAS (Valdes 1982) package in IRAF to scan the longest exposure frames and create a database of point sources detected in the near ultraviolet (effective wavelength 250 nm). These data have been cross correlated with other databases to identify known UV bright sources and locate previously uncataloged ones. Of approximately 2200 sources included in the database, about 300 have no counterparts in other published catalogs.
