The influence of the strong interactions in strange matter on its nonleptonic reaction rate and bulk viscosity is studied. We find the rate is strongly suppressed by these interactions. The bulk viscosity is also influenced by them. At low temperatures, the viscosity is strongly suppressed; but at high temperatures, it is slightly enhanced. The astrophysical implications of these results are also discussed.
