Is it possible to find the main sequence turn-off point of the oldest field stars and to define the age of the galactic disk from it? The authors have used a sample of 5000 F stars within 80 pc with uvby-photometry from B. Hauck, M. Mermilliod (1985). The sample has been divided into eight metallicity groups, within -0.6 ≤ [Fe/H] ≤ +0.3. They determine the age of the galactic disk just as ages of clusters. The age is 10 (or 6) Gyrs.
