Very Large Array 6 and 20 cm images of the E1 galaxy NGC 1399, which is the central and dominant member of the Fornax cluster, have been obtained. The radio source is of very low luminosity and in projection is confined within the optical image of NGC 1399. It consists of two antiparallel jets that merge with diffuse lobes. A comparison between the minimum radio pressures and the thermal pressures inferred from X-ray models indicates that the radio source is most likely confined. The source may be intrinsically small because the jets are initially of low Mach number, so that they turbulently entrain the ISM, decelerate, and rapidly terminate in lobes that contain no hot spots or sharp edges.
