We have simulated the thermal evolution of asteroid 4 Vesta through its complex history of growth, core separation, crust formation, and cooling by radiation. The model takes into account the latent heat of fusion and the increased specific heat capacity of melts, and considers the effects of collisional heating and redistribution of radioactive nuclides (26-Al and 6O-Fe) during differentiation.
