Six spectra with 3-5 A resolution were obtained of RZ Sgr in August 1983. The viewing lasted over 2 hr and covered only a quiescent period. Doubled broad hydrogen emission lines were detected which decreased in bifurcation at higher line numbers. Some similarities were found with the object Z Cha. Attempts to measure radial velocities using the H-beta lines revealed a 97 min radial velocity variation, in line with previous estimates. The line doubling is attributed to orbital plane inclination. A variation in the absorption dip-calculated radial velocity is taken to indicate that a secondary binary component has a superheated side that has weaker emission lines than the primary. The dip shift arises when the weak lines blend with the primary's lines. Finally, a 1.8 mass ratio is estimated for the binary components, based on the derived velocity curves.
