The near-Sun asteroid (1566) Icarus is a well-known object for studying the general relativistic effect on its motion. The author collected 578 observations in the interval 1949 - 1987 and researched Icarus' orbit so as to explore if this effect is exactly true by introducing a parameter λ. Including the general relativity term and taking the perturbations of all the major planets and the Moon into account, equations of motion of the objects were integrated synchronously. The author obtained: λ = 1.0124±0.0410, indicating that the general relativistic effect is established.
