Solar Filament, Filament Activation, Filament Magnetic Field
Scientific paper
By using the Hα filtergrams, TRACE and SOHO/EIT EUV filtergrams, SOHO/LASCO WL images and SOHO/MDI magnetograms, we study the activations and eruptions of two filaments on the boundary of AR0442 on August 25 in 2003. The main results obtained in the paper are as follows: (1) The activations and eruptions of the two filaments show different features. The F1 at first became darker and thicker, then appeared the bifurcation in its body, and eventually showed a whiplike eruption. As for F2, it partially disappeared and then the rest showed horizontal axial motion, and eventually erupted wholly. (2) The eruptive mechanisms of the two filaments are different. The F1 eruption was possibly driven by a new emerging flux; but the F2 eruption was closely associated with the flare produced by the F1 eruption and the interaction between F2 and the one of the two ribbons. Also, we simply analyze the relative phenomena such as flare, post-flareloop and CME etc.
