Abstract

The data on long-period variables (P not less than 200d) given in the General Catalogue of Variable Stars are used to determine the structure of the LPV system. It is found that in the first approximation this system can be represented as a combination of objects belonging to a plane subsystem (beta of about 150 ps) and to an intermediate system (beta of about 500 ps). The two subsystems have about the same number of stars.
