A spectral analysis of the parameters of the sporadic E layer measured above Ashkhabad during the solar eclipse of April 29, 1976, is presented. During the eclipse (as compared with a control period), additional peaks were observed in the power spectra along with a substantial increase in the spectral-density values. It is suggested that the spectral variations of the Es-layer parameters were caused by internal gravity waves generated by the eclipse.
