Problems connected with determining the structure of the SMC are addressed, with particular attention given to the estimation of the depth of the Cloud using Cepheid observations and to the distribution of radial velocities on the SMC surface. Models for the gravitational interaction between the Magellanic Clouds and the Milky Way are also examined.
