The structure and distribution of linear polarization of the N type galaxy 3C 459 have been determined with a long baseline interferometer at 610 MHz. The source consists of two small components; a relatively weak one with 8.8 per cent linear polarization and a strong component with ≤0.3 per cent polarization. It is likely that the stronger component coincides with the nucleus of the galaxy and that the weaker component corresponds to an optically visible 'jet.'
