A method of gamma-resonance spectroscopy on Fe-57 nuclei is used to study the valence and structural state of iron ions in impactites-zhamanshinites and tektites-irgizites from the Zhamanshin meteor crater. It is established that iron is found only in oxide form in irgizites. The energy characteristics of the spectra of Fe (2+) ions show an absence of long-range order in the structure which is apparently caused by the tempering of irgizites at high temperatures during the explosion caused by the fall of a meteorite.
