We present results from the spectroscopic analysis of the Spitzer interacting galaxy study. This study consists of a sample of 110 interacting galaxies in 49 systems, with which the spectra were obtained using the IRS High-resolution module. Our aim is to investigate the origin of the nuclear emission, detect any AGN activity, and measure its intensity in order to classify the nuclear activity. We use spectral features such as the presence of PAH emission as well as the NeII, NeII, Si and O lines. In addition we combine the IRS spectra with the broad band IRAC and MIPS photometry in order to study the 4-160 micron spectral energy distribution of these interacting galaxies.
