Cosmic Rays: Solar Modulation

Scientific paper

The data from the world-wide network of neutron monitors, ionization chambers, stratospheric and satellite observations of cosmic ray intensity are used to investigate the long-term cosmic ray modulation in the period 1937 - 1991. The rigidity spectrum of the long-term cosmic ray modulation is obtained for the period 1954 - 1991 in the 1 - 25 GV rigidity range. The generalized spectral forms are obtained for periods of high and low solar activity. The obtained energy spectrum and the energy spectrum of the primary cosmic rays observed on the ULYSSES near Earth in November 1990 are compared. A satisfactory accordance between these two spectra is found.
