The classification spectrograms of Sk -69.202 deg from ESO objective-prism plates are discussed and compared with data for six other LMC supergiants of similar spectral types. It is found that the spectral type of Sk -69.202 deg must be in the range B0.7-B3. The implications of the observations for the properties of the SN 1987A precursor are examined, including the possibility of nitrogen enhancement.
