Based on a hydrodynamical model of the gradual phase of solar flares, we have calculated both high temperature spectra (CaXIX) as well as low temperature ones (H-alpha and CaII K). The results show that the calculated spectra and their characteristics are consistent with common observations. This indicates that the hydrodynamical model of the gradual phase proposed by Gan and Fang (1990) can rather well reproduce the spectral observations. Meanwhile, it is shown that the extra heating is not necessary for quite a number of flares during their gradual phase.
