This paper presents high-resolution FIR of four galaxies using 50- and 100-micron data from the Chopped Photometric Channel instrument of the IRAS satellite. By careful calibration FIR color (temperature) maps are produced and compared quantitatively with nonthermal radio images. The FIR map for each galaxy shows a broad disk, the color temperature of which falls with increasing radius, together with discrete sources - the galactic nucleus and warm, FIR bright star-forming regions - which provide at least 25 to 35 per cent of the 50-micron flux. The spatial FIR-radio correlation is better for warmer dust (traced by 50-micron emission), and its tightness precludes major qualitative differences between star-forming regions within a galaxy. This correlation applies over a larger scale than individual star-forming regions.
